Automations with Zapier

Zapier + Cloutly

Cloutly works with Zapier, which allows you to create your own workflow automation across multiple apps. You will need to create a Zapier account in order to access this functionality.

Types of Automation

Zapier defines automation in two parts: a trigger and an action.

You can use Zapier to perform two, key actions:

'Do something' when you receive new reviews in Cloutly;

and

Send new review invites when 'something happens'

Responding to Feedback and Updating Customer Information

Here's an example of the first situation, where you could use Cloutly with Salesforce (or any other supported CRM) to update your customer records.

When this happens: your business receives a new review inside Cloutly

Do this: update a record in Salesforce

Why? Keep an up-to-date record of which customers have left you a review.

Let's look at another example using this same logic.

When this happens: your business receives a negative review inside Cloutly

Do this: create a support ticket in Zendesk

**Why?** Resolve customer concerns at lightning speed and turn negative feedback into brand opportunities.

Automating Review Collection

Now for the fun stuff: getting more reviews, at scale! In this case, we tell Zapier to trigger a new review invite when 'something' happens. Let's look at some examples.

When this happens: a customer places a new order on your Shopify store

Do this: send a review invite to that customer

Why? Get reviews from your most recent customers (those most likely to review you) to create a steady stream of inbound reviews.

If you're not doing any online selling or don't use an e-commerce platform like Shopify, you might find it more useful to set up simpler automation like this using Google Sheets.

When this happens: we add a new row (customer info) to a Google Sheet

Do this: send a review invite to that customer

Why? You may decide to manage your customer information through Google Sheets. In this case, if we added a new row (let's say, they were a patron in our restaurant earlier), Cloutly would send them a review invite (provided your Google Sheet contained their contact information).

As you can see, there are thousands of possible opportunities to collect and manage your reviews with Cloutly and Zapier. No matter what CRM or system you'd like to configure, it's likely possible with Zapier.
