Integrate Iterable with Cloutly
Iterable - Integration Guide
If your business uses Iterable, follow this guide to integrate Iterable with Cloutly. This integration will allow you to automatically send review campaigns after a trigger in Iterable.
Requirements
You have an active Cloutly plan.
You have an active Iterable account.
How it works?
How does the Iterable trigger work?
Click to see the Iterable docs for a refined description of webhooks.
The integration works via Iterable Journeys. An external webhook can be triggered in any Iterable Journey which commences the review collection process for a Contact in Cloutly.
You can determine when the Journey trigger occurs (purchase completed, subscribed to mailing list, etc).
You can change the messaging in Cloutly by editing the Campaign template.
How to remove or stop a review invite from being sent?
Important! It's really beneficial for you to understand this section clearly.
Once a Journey webhook as been triggered, there is no way to undo the email from being sent.
However, you can hard unsubscribe a contact by logging into Cloutly and deleting the contact.
Alternatively, "Turn off" the Journey from within Iterable.
How to get started
Please follow each step, one by one; the order is important.
1️⃣ Setup the Cloutly Webhook in Iterable
Create a new Journey Webhook. You may need to create multiple webhooks for each location.
Example Webhook name: "Cloutly Webhook"
Create the Journey in Iterable and enter the properties below:
Destination URL:
https://app.cloutly.com/api/callbacks/automations/iterable/webhooks
Headers:
x-api-key : YOUR API KEY HERE
(see below on how to find this property)
Body:
Leave it blank
User fields:
Important! Please ensure you map email, phoneNumber, firstName and locationIdentifier as the minimum required fields

2️⃣ Create the Journey and Webhook details in Iterable
Finalise your Journey in Iterable and then publish the Journey.
3️⃣ Set up the automation in Cloutly
Now it's time to ensure Cloutly can accept the incoming webhooks.
How to map Iterable contacts to a Location in Cloutly.
If you test with a contact that does not have this locationID property, then the contact will NOT be added to a campaign.
Ideally, you have some property for contacts in Iterable that group them into logical lists.
Here is an example of how the locationID could be assigned to a contact.
Now ensure to create the Automation.
Once the Automation is created, you can start adding contacts to the Journey in Iterable. Check the Logs section in Cloutly to help with debugging.
If you need to set these up in bulk, reach out to our friendly support team. They can assist with bulk creation for more than 4 locations.
